Z2I provides a seamless link between the EAS archive and the Interwoven environment via the Outlook WorkSite interface (MailSite).

Outlook users simply drag and drop shortcuts to archived emails into a WorkSite matter and provide any required profiling data.

There is no change to how end users work, although the EAS Search facility can help users identify items that need to be moved into WorkSite.

Behind the scenes, the Z2I Connector service monitors the WorkSite database for any new email objects. When a new email has been detected, the service checks to see if the message is in fact a shortcut to an archived message.

For any detected shortcuts, Z2I automatically retrieves the original email and any attachments from the archive, and places them into the Interwoven document management system.

Following the transfer into WorkSite organisations have the option of removing the original item from EAS.
